What is the definition of a gene and a chromosome and DNA?

i would like a definition for all three please!!!!!!!What is the definition of a gene and a chromosome and DNA?
Gene- It is because a gene is a segment of DNA (on a specific site on a chromosome) that is responsible for the physical and inheritable characteristics or phenotype of an organism. It also specifies the structure of a protein, and an RNA molecule

Chromosome- A structure within the cell that bears the genetic material as a threadlike linear strand of DNA bonded to various proteins in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells, or as a circular strand of DNA (or RNA in some viruses) in the cytoplasm of prokaryotes and in the mitochondrion and chloroplast of certain eukaryotes.

DNA-A double-stranded nucleic acid that contains the genetic information for cell growth, division, and function. What is the definition of a gene and a chromosome and DNA?
Chromosome = Really large string of DNA, wound up really tightly, and joined to another chromosome to form an X type of shape. Humans have 23 PAIRS of chromosomes, so 46 in total. You get 23 chromosomes from your mother and 23 from your father. Other species have different numbers of chromosomes. Chromosomes are all numbered, apart from the sex chromosomes.

Gene = Small sections of a chromosome. String of DNA that provides details on the characteristics of certain things, for example for eye colour. For each trait you have 2 genes, which are either dominant or recessive. Brown eyes are dominant over blue (which is recessive), so you only need one Brown eye gene to have brown eyes, but need 2 blue eye genes to have blue eyes.

B = Brown eye gene (dominant) b = blue eye gene (recessive)

If you have BB, bB or Bb you have brown eyes. If you have bb you have blue eyes.

DNA = the building blocks that make up genes and chromosomes. They are made of nucleotides (sugars, phosphates and bases) which are in long strands connected to each other. Each strand is connected to another strand to form a double helix shape. The code of the nucleotides is read by a different molecule called RNA, which basically expresses the DNA as amino acids, which form proteins, and the proteins form pretty much everything!

Hope this helps. What is the definition of a gene and a chromosome and DNA?
DNA = dioxy rhybonucleic acid which tells a cell what is is and how it should grown and behave - made up of "double helix" shaped chromosomes (a collectiong of atoms threaded round histones) these are insdie all cells atoms

a gene is different collection of chromosomes (not sure what shape they form) and these hold the information to tell the DNA how to grow in an offspring

...think iv got that right lol. hope it helps
