What is the replication of a DNA strand?

So so say the original DNA strand decides to produce two new strands. Are they the new template of a DNA strand? Or RNA strand? What is the replication of a DNA strand?
the original double helix is unwound and each strand serves as a template for new strandsWhat is the replication of a DNA strand?
Each dna strand are seperated to become two template strands. Then extra nucleotides are brought into the nucleus and then there is complementary base pairing between the new nucleotides and their corresponing bases on the parent strand. i.e adenosin:tymine Guanine:cytosine..

Dna ligase is an enzyme thats also used to strenthen the bonds between the bases
