What is meant by the statement that DNA replication is semi conservative?

What is meant by the statement that DNA replication is semi conservative? What is meant by the statement that DNA replication is semi conservative?
DNA is a double-stranded molecule. Each of those strands are used to create new daughter DNA strands. So after the new DNA is made, each new DNA molecule has one old strand (parent strand) and one new strand (daughter strand). This method of replication helps to minimize errors in replication (mutations). What is meant by the statement that DNA replication is semi conservative?
see its complicated but simple if u follow me

accc. to semiconservative theory of taylor, during replication of the two strands called leading strand and lagging strand ,new dna is produced on only one and the other strand is conserved

since half of dna is conserved hence the process is said to be semiconservative also it is bidirectionalWhat is meant by the statement that DNA replication is semi conservative?
Half of the DNA strand is kept from the original and is used as a template in replication
